ThePortland Trail Blazers are fielding trade offers for guard JamalCrawford and the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, andBoston Celtics are among the teams actively pursuing the scoringspecialist intensely, a league source tells CSNNW.com.
Otherteams who have shown diminutive interest are the LosAngeles Clippers and the Phoenix Suns according to a person familiarwith the situation.
Backin December, Crawford agreed to a two-year, 10 million contract withthe Trail Blazers with an opt out option at the end of year one. AndyMiller (Crawford's agent) and the Trail Blazers agreed to extend hisopt out deadline to June 29. The previous deadline was June 15.
Atrade would grant Crawford his Bird Rights and If he isn't tradedbefore or on draft night (June 28), Crawford is expected to opt outand become an unrestricted free agent the very next day.
Minnesota has long coveted Crawford and was close to obtaining him at the trade deadline on March 15. The team is also making a play for former Trail Blazers Brandon Roy and recently acquired Chase Budinger via trade from Houston. At this point, I can't confirm if Roy's decision or Budinger's acquisition would impact Crawford being on their radar.
I would keep my eye on Boston. They owns picks No. 21 and 22 in Thursday's draft and have a ton of cap space allowing them to be in play however things shape up with Crawford.
