He'sgot a lot of experience. He's been an assistant for five years in theNBA and has grown as a coach tremendously. He's ready to be a head,Hollins told

Joerger,a graduate of Moorhead State, has never been an NBA head coach, buthe has been one of the most decorated minor league coaches inhistory. In fact, he's considered by many to be one the best headcoaches to walk the minor league sideline having won five titles one in the National Basketball Development League (2006-07 DakotaWizards), one in the International Basketball Association, and threein the Continental Basketball Association.

Withthe way the Trail Blazers' roster composition is forming, it lookslike a developmental coach is what is necessary and that's why coachHollins thinks Joeger is the perfect candidate for the Trail Blazers.

Hehas been great for me. He's very energetic, he sees the big pictureand is a great guy to work with, Hollins said. He has a gooddefensive mind and now it's about him trying get an opportunity to bea head coach and sell yourself. I think he'll do well in theinterview.

Joergeris married to Kara and they have two daughters together.

Olshey recently met with former Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan in Salt Lake City regarding their opening. Sloan, though, removed his name from consideration.
