People tell me that Trail Blazer owner Paul Allen has always had a bit of fetish for point guards. And I think he's going to have a real fun time on draft night when it rolls around to the sixth pick.

My guess, after Damian Lillard's solo workout Friday in Portland, is that the Trail Blazers will select Lillard with that sixth choice.

The gym had a noticeable upbeat vibe after his workout. Word was, the kid barely missed a shot through the entire session. He's strong, he's quick and he can really score. Also, it's said he's a pretty nice young man.

The Trail Blazer brass -- including Allen -- took Lillard to dinner Thursday night. And the owner isn't in the habit of going out to dine with just anybody, including his permanent employees. I think Portland had a real good feeling about him prior to the workout and came away from his morning session at the team's practice facility feeling even better about it.

I believe the Blazers will take him -- assuming he's available at No. 6. Lillard has been very impressive in the Chicago combine and all his private team workouts.
