Rememberwhen the Portland Trail Blazers drafted the 7-1 Meyers Leonard with the No.11 pick in the 2012 NBA draft? Okay, when that occurred, Skip Baylessof ESPN's First Take tweeted this out, Thisis WAY too high for Meyers Leonard. Will never live up to 11thoverall.
Ofcourse I had to check in and see if Leonard was aware that he wascalled out by the easy-going Mr. Bayless.
"Ididn't know that, Leonard said to CSNNW.com. Interesting. Well,he's entitled to his own opinion. I'm just going to continue to workhard and be the best I can be. But, I didn't know he said that.
Leonard,20, has a unique talent with size and athleticism and will only getbetter with time. He left the University of Illinois after twoseasons and he knows he has a learning curve ahead of him.
Ontop of that, he has also experienced his first dose of nationalcriticism, as well. I'm sure you all know Leonard's story with hisfamily and all, and just like he's overcome those obstacles, I'mcertain he'll overcome the media scrutiny that comes with being aprofessional athlete.
Idon't worry about that. I just worry about what I can control,Leonard said.
