CSNNW.com confirms DavidAldridge's (of NBA.com) report that Neil Olshey and the Los Angeles Clippershave decided to part ways and Olshey will be named the next general managerof the Portland Trail Blazers.
A press conference is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. introducing Olshey to Portland.Trail Blazers' president Larry Miller is excited to finally have this situation taken care of.
"Neil is someone weve had on our radar for quite a while, said Miller in a Trail Blazers' press release. Over the past two seasons he has demonstrated success in constructing a roster, managing salary cap and evaluating player talent. We feel very fortunate to have him in Portland and are thrilled about what this means for the future.
OnFriday, the Clippers announced that they agreed in principle withOlshey to keep him as their general manager for a third season, buttalks broke off over the weekend.

Portland is a great basketball city with a rich tradition, an incredible fan base and committed leadership. Im joining an organization that has a strong foundation and a bright future. I couldnt be more excited and Im ready to hit the ground running.
Indiana'sgeneral manager David Morway, Philadelphias assistant generalmanager Tony DiLeo, and former New Orleans general manager JeffBower, were the other finalist for the Trail Blazers' opening.It'sbeen over a year since the Trail Blazers had a permanent generalmanager in place and now Olshey can step in just in time for the 2012NBA Draft.
