Olshey: Paul Allen pushing us to get better
The Portland Trail Blazers declined to pick up the 2014-15 team option on Mike Born’s contract, the team’s Director of NBA Scouting, league sources informed CSNNW.com.
Born, 48, who joined the team in 2004 as a domestic scout before former General Manager Kevin Pritchard promoted him to his most recent position in 2007, is no longer with the organization, we were told.
There isn’t expected to be any other front office staffers exiting and the decision had nothing to do with performance.
Born’s duties included attending games at the NBA level, College, the NBA Development League and International play for all things centered around preparing and educating the team on potential prospects they chose to pursue.
With his experience and expertise, he won’t be out of a job long.
