Eric Moreland Returns for Junior Season

Oregon State sophomore forward Eric Moreland announced today that he will withdraw his name from NBA Draft consideration and return for his junior season. Moreland, the 6’10″ athletic forward with tremendous upside defensively struggled through OSU’s dismal 14-18 season, had opted to explore his NBA draft stock without the help of an agent. Tuesday, April 10th was the last day to decide whether or not to take a shot at the pro level, or return to school in Corvallis.

Moreland averaged 2.5 blocks per game, and hauled down more than 200 defensive boards during the season. Moreland also averaged 9.4 points per game, but was never consistent offensively, posting  a one-point effort at home against Colorado and a season high of 20 points against WCC also-ran San Diego.

Moreland will remain with the young Beavers basketball team, which graduated just two seniors, Joe Burton and Angus Brandt.
