Damian Lillard Takes Stance Against Bullying

It will be announced today that Damian Lillard of the Portland Trail Blazers will receive the NBA “Kia Community Assist Award” for March in recognition of his outstanding efforts in the community, ongoing advocacy and charitable work.

Kia and the NBA will honor Lillard for his commitment to anti-bullying and his ongoing support of local, regional, and national organizations that share his passion for promoting respect for all.

The five-time Rookie of the Month has urged people to take the “Respect, Pass It On” pledge at Trail Blazers.com/respect, resulting in pledges of over 5000 people from five countries internationally.

NBA Cares Ambassador Bob Lanier will present the “Kia Community Assist Award” to Lillard before Wednesday night's game versus the Los Angeles Lakers. Kia and the NBA will donate $10,000 on Lillard's behalf to the Susan G. Komen for the cure foundation, split between the Portland and Oakland Affiliates.
