The Portland Trail Blazers have hired Premier Partnerships, a sports sales advisory firm, to help in the search for a Rose Garden naming rights partner, the team announced today.

Trail Blazers President Chris McGowan told CSNNW.com that it was always in the plan to hire help in facilitating the pursuit of a partner.

"The plan all along was to get a fresh perspective from an outside source," McGowan said. "We'll be working with them weekly and daily to try and locate the right partner."

McGowan says there has been roughly five potential suitors who have shown interest, though talks have only been preliminary up to this point. He says he's hopeful a naming rights deal will be struck before the 2013-14 NBA season kicks up.

"My goal is to have this in place before next season, but it can't be just any partner," McGowan said. "It has to be the right partner that shares our vision. It has to be the right fit. I will not rush it, but I'm optimistic a deal will be in place before next season."

In mid-November, McGowan told CSNNW.com that selling the naming rights to the arena could omit the name "Rose Garden." However, McGowan said it is soley contingent on the buyer on whether they choose to include it or not.
