HOUSTON – The Houston Rockets cruised to a 118-103 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers giving them some breathing room as both teams seek to claim that eighth and final playoff seed in the Western Conference.
James Harden played an all around game for the Rockets (28-24) going for 35 points on 13-for-15 shooting, seven rebounds and 11 assists. At the half, he had 20 points on 8-for-8 from the field and distributed eight assists. Harden's first miss came at the 4:31 mark in the third quarter.
Chandler Parsons contributed 20 points.
The Rockets shot 60 percent for the game.
At the end of the first half, the Rockets led 62-53. The Rockets' 62 first half points was tied for the most points scored against the Trail Blazers this season.
LaMarcus Aldridge gave it all he had pouring in 31 points and 11 rebounds. Nicolas Batum notched over 12 points for the first time in six games tallying 24 points. Damian Lillard scored nine of his 18 points in the second quarter.
The Trail Blazers (25-25) still lead the season series 2-1.
