Lillard Slips, Reveals Price Waived
TUALATIN -- The Portland Trail Blazers and Oklahoma City Thunder have agreed to a deal that would send Eric Maynor to Portland in exchange for the draft rights of Giorgio Printezis, Yahoo! Sports reported.
"Eric is a player we have valued and pursued for some time,” said Trail Blazers General Manager Neil Olshey in a team release. “His skill level and character will be excellent additions to our culture on and off the floor.”
The Trail Blazers have 15 guaranteed contracts and in order to make room on the roster for Maynor, CSNNW.com has learned that Ronnie Price will be the player waived.
Price has been dealing with a severe right ankle injury all season long but I'm told he plans to make a return to the league this season.
"Ronnie has been a consummate professional and we thank him for his contributions to the team," said Olshey.
In 37 games this season, Maynor, 25, is averaging 2.8 points, 0.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists. Price, 29, has played in 39 games for the Trail Blazers and was averaging 2.7 points, 1.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists.
