C.J. McCollum out of Lehigh University will work out for the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, June 10, a source close to the prospect informed CSNNW.com.
McCollum, 21, is a 6-3 combo guard who is a for your-year collegiate player that averaged 23.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.4 steals and shot at a 51 percent clip from downtown during his senior season.
However, the guard only played in 12 games that year due to sustaining a broken left foot midway through the season against Virginia Commonwealth.
The guard averaged over 20 points in each of his season with the exception of his freshman year where he poured in 19.1 points a game.
CSNNW.com spoke with McCollum at the Chicago Pre-Draft Combine last month about the possibilities of landing in Portland and playing alongside Damian Lillard. He said he believes they can coexist on the court together.
“I think me and [Damian] Lillard can play well together,” he said. “I think our games would complement one another while in the backcourt together. It can definitely work.”
Most mock drafts have McCollum going anywhere from the No. 7 pick to No. 11.
The Trail Blazers have picks No. 10, 39, 40 and 45 in the upcoming NBA Draft on June 27.
There will be a great chance owner Paul Allen will be present at his third workout session on Monday. Allen has only attended the workouts of Georgia's Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Indiana's Cody Zeller.
McCollum recently wrapped up a workout with the Sacramento Kings who own the No. 7 pick.
