Portland, Oregon---The Montana Grizzlies on Thursday night proved why they so far have been the class of the Big Sky Conference by easily defeating Portland State, 81-68.
With the win, Montana runs its Big Sky record to 11-0 and holds a two game lead over Weber State. The victory was also the 11th straight win for the Griz and their 19 consecutive conference win, dating back to the 2011-12 season.
One of the largest crowds of the year, 1,307 watched the one sided contest in the Stott Center. Aaron Moore led the Vikings in scoring with 14 points, while the winning Grizzlies were led in scoring by standout senior guard Will Cherry with 16 points.
Montana moves on to meet Eastern Washington on Saturday, while Portland State, now 3-8 in Big Sky play and 5-13 overall will host Montana State on Saturday night, 7:30 tip.
