RAPID REACTION: Portland Pilots loses to BYU, 85-67

Portland, Oregon---BYU Cougars, coming off a dismantling in Spokane on Thursday night, were on ready on Saturday night not to lose two in row as they easily defeated the Portland Pilots, 85-67.

BYU controlled the game from start to finish, with guard Matt Carlino leading the scoring with 24 points, followed by Brandon Davies' 20. U of Portland was led in scoring by Ryan Nicholas' 16 points. 

Portland Pilot junior guard Tanner Riley was ejected at 14:00 mark of the second half for fighting, which carries an automatic one game suspension, per NCAA rules.

With the win, BYU moves to 16-2 on the season, 6-2 in WCC play. Portland's loss, moves their WCC record to 1-6 and 8-14 overall.

Attendance was 3,078, made up mostly of BYU fans, as much more blue and white were in the stands, than purple and white.

Portland, next plays Thursday night at the red-hot Santa Clara Broncos.
