Freshman forward Brandon Austin, who was suspended from the Providence basketball team earlier this season for "not upholding their responsibilities as student-athletes", has transferred to Oregon, according to several reports. Austin will be eligible to play in December 2014.

Oregon head coach Dana Altman has benefited from transfer students, including native Oregonian who transferred from UNLV Mike Moser, Joseph Young out of Houston and Jason Calliste from Detroit, as the Ducks began the season 13-1 and ranked No. 17 in the nation.

Austin, ranked as the No. 45 overall recruit in the Class of 2013 by Yahoo! Rivals, initially committed to Penn State before he ended up at Providence.

Austin was suspended indefinitely along with fellow freshman Rodney Bullock, which later became a season long suspension. On January 4th, Austin decided to leave the school.

As a graduate of Imhotep Charter High, Austin helped carry the squad to a 28-5 record in 2013, where he averaged 22 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists as a senior.
