CSN Insiders Week 11 Picks

Utah starting quarterback Travis Wilson will not play against No. 6 Oregon on Saturday.

The Salt Lake Tribune is reporting that the 6-foot-6 sophomore missed the trip to Eugene and will not play because of a concussion suffered during last week's 20-19 loss to Arizona State at home.

Starting in place of Wilson will be sophomore Adam Schulz. The former walk-on will make his fourth appearance of the season. He's completed 22 of 45 passes for 247 yards and one touchdown with one interception.

Wilson has been inconsistent this season but when he's on, Utah is dangerous. he is second on the team with 386 yards rushing and has five rushing touchdowns.

“That guy can run and he’s running against everybody,” Oregon coach Mark Helfrich said earlier in the week.

Helfrich said Wilson is deceptively fast and ise tough to bring down.

“You start to see a guy that’s his size and stature and you don’t expect him to outrun pursuit angles and he does on every take,” Helfrich said.

However, Wilson has been inconsistent as a passer throwing 16 touchdowns with 16 interceptions while completing 56.1 percent of his passes.

Still, Utah is worse off without him. Any chance the Utes had of pulling off an upset as 27-point dogs was likely left back in Utah.
