With Jan. 6 being the first day NBA teams are allowed to sign players to 10-day contracts, free agent swingman Mickael Pietrus may finally get a shot at his 11th NBA season.
His agent says that his versatile defending client is fully healthy and ready to make his return to the NBA.
“We’re open and active, waiting for the best opportunity for Mickael,” Pietrus’ agent Bill McCandless told CSNNW.com.
McCandless says Pietrus has turned down at least 15 overseas offers with the sole purpose of latching on with an NBA team this season.
“It’s the NBA or bust,” McCandless said.
Pietrus, 31, has a career average of 8.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, 0.7 steals and a 35 percent three-point percentage. The 6-7 forward has played for six different teams during his career that includes Golden State, Orlando, Phoenix, Boston, Orlando and Toronto. He has remained in good shape throughout this waiting period, we're told.
