WEB EXCLUSIVE: Posting Up with Charles Barkley
Free agent center Marcus Camby met with the Chicago Bulls on Friday and talks were described as going "extremely well," a source close to the situation relayed to CSNNW.com.
The source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity due to the private nature of these talks, added that Camby has made it known to teams that whichever team he chooses to play for, post-playing career, he would like to transition immediately into being an NBA coach or NBA player developer.
The 6-11 center has been considered by many around the league over the last several years to have been playing the role of a player-coach similar to Brooklyn Nets coach Jason Kidd.
Camby, 39, met with the Houston Rockets on Thursday. He is expected to make a decision soon.
The 17-year veteran was recently bought out by the Toronto Raptors after the New York Knicks traded him there in a deal for Andrea Bargnani earlier in the month. His preference is to finish out his career on a contending team.
He has a career average of 11.6 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.9 blocks per game and is one of the best passing big men in this league.
