NEW ORLEANS – Free agent guard Rodrigue Beaubois is fully healthy and will begin participating in workouts with a handful of NBA teams late next week, a league source informed CSNNW.com.
The Memphis Grizzlies and Washington Wizards have inquired about the point guard and are expected to bring him in for a workout, two sources told CSNNW.com.
The reason Beaubois, a 6-2 speedy guard, did not sign with a team before the season is because he underwent surgery to repair a fractured second metacarpal in his left hand. It was the third time he’s had the procedure done.
According to multiple personnel who have observed him on a basketball court recently, say he’s ready to go.
Beaubois, 25, is regarded as one of the top backup points guards in the league when healthy. In four career NBA seasons, he averages 7.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 15.9 minutes.
