The Portland Trail Blazers tipped off against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday. The Jazz started out hot shooting 50% early in the first quarter going 6-of-13.
Portland is without Al-Farouq Aminu (left knee strain). The Blazers started, Ed Davis in place of the injured Aminu.
Midway through the first quarter, the Blazers were down 18-8.
Meyers Leonard hit his first two three-point attempts and led Portland with those six points in the first quarter.
To end the first, Portland shot 30.4% as a team, while Utah ended up shooting 28.6%.
The Jazz held an 18-17 lead after one quarter.
Jusuf Nurkic made his debut off the bench for the Blazers tonight. In the first half, Nurkic scored three points and pulled down five rebounds in 10 minutes of action.
At the break, the Trail Blazers are up 40-37.
